Jones Takes Co-angler Victory at Okeechobee
Bryan Jones of Zephyrhills, FL was the co-angler champion of the Florida South Ram Truck Open Series opener held on February 20, 2016 at Lake Okeechobee. His 12.72 pound limit that included the 6.57 co-angler Big bass was worth a total of $2135.
“We were up here on the north end. All of my fish came on a “Senko” type worm. I was just throwing it into hydrilla and working it really slow. We tried to flip for a little bit, but the flipping bite just wasn’t on today. I caught my Big Bass around 11:30. It was a really good day,” said Jones.
David Sullivan of Johnston, SC finished in second place on the co-angler side with 12.05 pounds to win $614. “I lost one about four and a half pounds that I saw jump off. I was throwing a swimbait right behind my boater all day,” said Sullivan.
The third place spot went to Ernie Johnson of Okeechobee, FL. Johnson had 10.77 pounds worth $410. “We were over on the west side and caught them all on a weightless Fluke,” said Johnson.
